Siemens Plant Racer DCS Experience

2023

The challenge

SIEMENS commissioned us to design and implement an interactive racing game in real-time 3D for PowerAutomationWorld in Karlsruhe. This game should also be able to be used flexibly at trade fairs and focus on the development from PCS 7 to PCS neo. SIMATIC PCS neo, the web-based process control system, enables access to a wide range of real-time features and thus offers all the advantages.

The realization

An interactive racing game in real-time 3D that offers a leaderboard and support for gaming steering wheels. After a previous concept phase, three-dimensional track assets, vehicles and characters were created and then integrated into the game engine. The game logic, the physics of the vehicles, the artificial intelligence of the opponents and the mechanics for power-ups were implemented within the Unity game engine.

The result

DCS Plant Racer is an interactive racing game in real-time 3D in which the player takes on the role of a digital signal that acts in the form of a vehicle in order to complete the process loop as quickly as possible. Using the data collected in the process, the digital companion eaSie can support the player with power-ups and other aids.
